Blog Break

These days it's hard enough keeping up with my main blog posts so Gingham Skies Creates is on the back burner. I'll start adding bits here once I open up shop again this summer. In the meantime you can click HERE to see my latest creations. Thanks for your patience!

Hide your wet bits!

I made this wet bag ages ago and I use it on a daily basis. We use wet cloths rather than disposable wipes for Kian so this little bag hangs in his room for storing the dirty wipes. When it's time to wash the stash I dump them AND the wet bag into the washing machine. I accidentally threw the bag into the dryer a couple weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised to find that PUL survives the heat blast just fine!

I'll be making a couple more wet bags soon: one to keep in the diaper bag and one for our swim gear. A super easy and ultra useful little project. Hop on over to A Lemon Squeezy Home for a great tutorial that's easy to follow. Oh and a little hint: use a Teflon foot on your sewing machine to avoid sticking to the PUL.

Sneaker Stasher

A kid with a ridiculous shoe collection...

Needs a place to keep them organized:

This project was one of those extremely frustrating but gratifying tasks. I was ready to throw the entire thing out on at least 63 occasions but the finished product was well worth the annoyances. Would I make another one exactly like this one? Not in a million years.

Nursing Cover aka Hooter Hider

Finally made myself a nursing cover!! The ladies can now go into hiding when feeding Smidge in public.

The first nursing cover I made that was given to Jessy - she uses it all the time so it really does do its job!!

Hide Your Girls

A nursing cover aka hooter hider for nursing mamas.

Two D rings allow for adjustment of the neck strap and flexible boning creates a gaping neckline so mom can see baby while he/she feeds.

The main body of the cover is approximately 36 x 24 inches. Lots of coverage so that you're hidden from the front and sides.

Hoping to add some to the shop soon but feel free to email me ( if you're interested in one sooner.

A special order came in before Christmas. Loved Kim's fabric choices!

A set of six large square dinner napkins:

I need to make a set for myself now!

Kimmy's Birdie Bag

I loved putting this little purse together for Kim. She's complete with a zipped top closure, two tiny pockets inside for a cell phone and lip gloss as well as a zipped interior pocket.

I absolutely love this fabric! Thanks for the order Kim!
